Recognizing Athletic Trainers
Celebrate National Athletic Training Month this March with us at Sand Lake Imaging. From baseline concussion testing to identification, athletic trainers play a large role in our sons and daughters’ safety while playing the sport they love. Furthermore, we would like to thank athletic trainers for their hard work and positive impact on the world of sports.
Concussions and Symptoms
In the past couple of years, there has been a large push in the athletic community to discover more about concussions. This all begins with awareness. Often, young athletes do not report a head injury to a coach or parent in order to avoid losing play-time. In other cases, they may not even recall or recognize the event.
- Amnesia (typically involving the memory of the injury)
- General confusion/ appearing dazed
- Loss of consciousness
- Dizziness/ loss of balance
- Ringing of the ears
- Nausea or vomiting
- Slurred speech
- Delayed reaction time and response
- Difficulty concentrating
- Sensitivity to light and noise
- Sleep disturbances
Schedule Your Scan
If your doctor recommends a brain imaging test, we provide various kinds from providing a head CT scan or an MRI of the brain. MRI imaging is a process that does not involve radiation, while CT scans use a small dose of x-ray beams. We provide Orlando’s best MRI scans and they only take 10-15 minutes. Likewise, our CT scans are quick, taking 5-10 minutes. MRI scans are accomplished in revealing abnormal tissue in the body. Whereas, CT scans show the tissues, blood vessels, and bones in the frame.
Once your doctor has decided which scan is the best fit for you, streamline your visit to Sand Lake Imaging here.
