It is vital, during these times, that residents heed the recommendations regarding evacuation plans in their area. Here at Sand Lake Imaging, we take the safety of our patients very seriously.

With the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey and now Hurricane Irma in our midst, being prepared is crucial. Simple “To-Do’s” and checklists can go a long way when no one knows how bad the damage will be.

The question is, are you and your family ready?

Sandbag Locations

Orlando/ Maitland area:

  • Between 7AM and 7PM (Thursday, Sept. 7- Friday, Sept. 8)
    Orlando Streets and Stormwater Division:
    1010 Woods Ave, Orlando, FL 32805
    *  Alternate routes are available due to construction in the area

Lady Lake area:

  • Starting 7AM (Wednesday, Sept. 6)
    Solid Waste Residential Convenience Center:
    1200 Jackson St, Lady Lake, FL 32159 (map)
    Residents MUST bring their own shovel and fill up to 20 bags per household per 24 hours.

Marion County area:
Will be open Wednesday, Sept. 6 through Friday Sept. 8.

    Sandbags are available to residents at NO COST. Shovels, sand and bags will be on site. There is a limit of 10 sandbags per resident.

Being fully prepared is key when waiting out any natural disaster. Checklists are beneficial in making sure that you, your family, and your home are taken care of to the best of your ability.  (Of course, don’t forget our fur friends!)

Food & Water Checklist

*Pack non-perishable food for 3-7 days

  • Bottled water
  • Bottled juice
  • Canned food
  • (2) Coolers; (1) for food (1) for water
  • Dry pet food
  • Manual can opener

Preparing Your Pet

* Your pet will need more than (1) bag of food.

  • Water for 3-7 days
  • Non- perishable food
  • Crate/carrier/tank
  • Leash/Collar
  • Favorite toy (for comfort)
  • Blanket and/or pillow
  • Updated shots and medical records
  • Updated Microchip info
  • Any meds needed
