PREPS FOR THE SCREENING VIRTUAL COLONOSCOPY

Patients must prep for 24 hrs. prior to exam. They are to be on a clear liquid 24 hours prior to exam, and prepped with the Fleet Prep-1 kit or the LO-SO Prep, and must be NPO after midnight on the day of exam. Schedule early in day!

The success of the exam depends on the proper prep. Be sure to explain to patient and stress upon it. They must follow all instructions given by us and on the Fleet Prep-1 kit or the LO-SO Prep box. They must get one of these mentioned above. A Fleet enema is not proper prep and insufficient to perform exam.

The exam lasts 15 minutes, there is no sedation required. This is a screening process exam, usually not covered by insurance and the cost is $850. For those patients that are self pay we can and will offer a payment plan of ½ up front and bill patient for the rest at a later time. This is for patients that do not have any symptoms (no bleeding, no bowel symptoms, no hemorrhoids). It is covered under certain circumstances (i.e. a failed colonoscopy) and it becomes a diagnostic procedures for these cases patients must come in right away. In these special instances we will obtain the proper auth from the insurance company and have it authorize before the patient arrives. All exams must have an order from a physician.
