Mission Statement
Sand Lake Imaging is committed to providing the highest quality diagnostic imaging to the patients and physicians of this community in a cost-effective and timely manner. The staff and Radiologist recognize that in the performance of their duties they must continually seek to improve services while remaining sensitive to patients needs.
The American College of Radiology is proud to introduce the Breast Imaging Center of Excellence Award. The ACR began recognizing breast-imaging centers that achieve excellence by seeking and earning accreditation in all of the ACR’s voluntary breast-imaging accreditation programs and modules, in addition to the mandatory mammography accreditation program. This designation, administered by the ACR’s Commission on Quality and Safety and the Commission on Breast Imaging, recognizes a center’s dedication to improving women’s health by participating in these rigorous quality assurance programs. In order to receive the ACR’s Breast Imaging Center of Excellence Designation, a Center must be fully accredited in:
- Mammography by the ACR (or an FDA-approved state accrediting body)
- Stereotactic breast biopsy by the ACR
- Breast ultrasound by the ACR (including the ultrasound-guided breast biopsy module)
Sand Lake Imaging is the first free standing imaging center
in Central Florida to receive this accreditation.
The 32,000 member s of the American college of Radiology include radiologist, radiation oncologist,medical physicists, interventional radiologist and nuclear medicine physicians. For over three quarters of a century, the ACR has devoted its resources to making imaging safe,effective and accessible to those who need it. The mission of the ACR is to serve patients and society by maximizing the value of radiology, radiation oncology, interventional radiology, necular medicine and medicine physics by advancing the science of radiology, improving the quality of patient care, positively influencing the socio-economics of the practice of radiology, providing continuing education for radiology and allied health professions and conducting research for the future of radio.
